Dinner and a Movie
So this weekend was a wash. It rained the whole time, which made exploring something less than favorable. Instead I went to the supermarket in order to cook a number of things I wanted to try but hadn’t had the motivation to: CURRY.
Once I got home I skimmed my cookbook and tried to find a recipe that would work with my ingredients. I know I should have done it the other way around. You know find a recipe and then buy those ingredients…but I’m a culinary artist…I’m trying to create here…stop stifling me. Well in the end I created a curry that was…well…pretty bad. I should have read the ingredients on the curry mix. Apparently the major ingredient was salt so after I had fully salted and peppered the beef stir fry, the curry mix put the salt content way out of proportion. I can feel all the iron in my blood beginning to rust.
I also made some tuna salad, and orange beef. The orange beef came out really good but the sauce came from a bottle so I guess it doesn’t really count as cooking.
Oh I forgot to mention, I also went to the Asian grocery store and picked up some curry pan and edamame shumai…can’t wait to steam those things up. I also picked up some coffee shots and poccari sweat.
Because I was in all weekend I got to watch a bunch of movies that I had previously bought/downloaded but hadn’t gotten to. I watched Versus for the second time. It’s a slow going, low-budget Japanese “B” movie but with some great overacting and real comedic gems. I also watched Furi Kuri or FLCL whatever you want to call it. It was really good and at only 6 episodes it didn’t take long to go through the series. My only complaint is that focusing on the subtitles and trying to catch all of the on screen wacky antics was a bit difficult (especially in the manga style scenes) so I had to pause it every once and a while to be sure to get everything. Lastly I saw 2LDK a film recommended by Bastard Face. This was a great movie, it reaffirms my belief that women just aren't meant to live together.
Well, I’m feeling a bit sloth like so I’m going to go for a run.

Actually I've never gone running here in Atlanta. I need to find a nice secluded place with no traffic so that I can run at night. The last couple of days have been rainy and when its not raining its too damn hot to run (even after work at 7pm).
I have been exercising in my apartment, but it hasn't really been any cardio, which is what I need the most of.
I agree that women should not live together. Only bad things result.
